Cantillon with raspberries

Wow, it's been quite awhile since we've had anything new to post. This piece was done in oil sticks on panel, giving it a more rustic appearance than our regular oil paintings. This original painting of Cantillon caps and cork with raspberries is for sale here.

"For Christmas last year my girlfriend completely surprised me by commissioning you to paint a bottle of Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. A few months earlier we had met up in Munich for Oktoberfest which included a day trip out to the Weihenstephaner brewery, which I think will go down as one of my favorite days ever. The painting holds a very special place in my heart and it hangs proudly in our living room situated so that wherever you sit you can easily see it and a truncated version of it resides as the lock screen on my phone. "When I first saw their paintings online, I honestly thought they were modified photographs, because they truly look like the real thing. But after checking their site out and seeing their other work, I could not resist having one of my own for my basement (aka Manland).

All I can say is that I was blown away at the final product. I kept asking Louie to send me photos of the painting in progress, but he refused in that they don't like doing that until it is finished. I was like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. When I finally got the piece, I was truly amazed. It is proudly handing at the bottom of my basement steps so everyone sees it as they go downstairs (and also sits right outside my beer cellar). "
